I am Vivek Verma born in Chennai, India. Throughout my life, I have been witching places within India like Mumbai, Lonavala, Visakhapatnam, and Chennai. My home since the last 10 years has been at Visakhapatnam.

Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore where I am using materials science to recycle or recover precious metals from the used Li-ion batteries. My current research is the follow-up work from my Ph.D. research at NTU where I focused on making green, safe and sustainable batteries for grid-scale energy storage by developing water based rechargeable Zn-ion batteries. When I am not working, I do indulge in a diverse range of hobbies. At present, I am exploring the various recipes to Lacto ferment some vegetables to enjoy both the taste and health benefits. Beyond this, I have been learning to longboard for commuting, reading books, tinkering with many gadgets and software to make my daily life and work life easier.
